It is less than a week away from Opening Day, one of my favorite days of the year. Below are my predictions for the 2023 MLB season where there are some upset picks but as any good baseball fan knows that in 162 games anything can happen. The AL East will probably once again be the best division in baseball with all the team having a chance at a playoff spot. The AL Central will probably be the weakest of the AL division with my predictions that the Indians repeat as division champ though it should be much tougher with a more competent White Sox dugout. The AL West will be competitive with a tight race between the Astros and Mariners that could come down to the final weekend of baseball.
The NL East will be ruled by the Mets in my estimation but it is quite possible that even with Steve Cohen money they still do the Mets thing and fail at the last second, sorry Mets fan. It pains me to say that the St.Louis Cardinals will probably win the NL Central, but I do think that the Cubs will make the playoffs and advance farther than the Cardinals. Finally I think that the Dodgers reign as NL West division will end this year. I think that the Padres will take the division crown from the Dodgers because the dynamic rotation but the lineup has now flipped in the Padres favor for the first time in over a decade.
To conclude I am so excited for the upcoming season to hopefully see a much more competitive Cubs team and to once again see my favorite sport.
